Did “The Hogg Effect” Help May 2018 Set the Record for Monthly Gun Sales?

Does the NRA need to send a gift basket to David Hogg and his friends?  Does it even seem possible (or logical) that the more people try to chip away at the Second Amendment, the more guns are actually sold?

According to the FBI, the Bureau processed 1.9 million queries through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) in May of 2017, which set a record.  The FBI considers NICS queries the best indicator of gun sales, because every sale through a licensed dealer requires such a check.  To find out if the record still stands after last month, click on the following link: May 2018 NICS Queries
